CT Dads are soaring back from The National At-Home Dad Network’s 27th annual HomeDadCon with renewed vigor for sponsoring a monthly(ish) CT Dads Dinner for stay-at-home dads and primary caregivers.
Our small (but mighty) presence at the Milwaukee convention included a member benefiting from the generosity of the Brian Dickson Scholarship, a breakout speaker presenting on Household Finance, and a keynote speaker addressing the topic of Appreciating the Poetry and Whimsy of At-Home Dad Life.
The National At-Home Dad Network’s mission is: “To provide advocacy, community, education and support for families where the fathers are primary caregivers for their children.”
CT Dads supports that mission by hosting a monthly(ish) CT Dads Dinner open to any stay-at-home dad or primary caregiver.
October’s dinner will be on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at 6 PM at Eli Cannon’s Tap Room in Middletown, CT.
If you want to learn more about HomeDadCon, check out some of the awesome press coverage we got in Milwaukee from Wisconsin Public Radio, local affiliate ABC 12, and local affiliate CBS 58.
then mark your calendar and register for HomeDadCon St. Louis, scheduled for October 17-19, 2024.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed right now, The National At-Home Dad Network offers online weekly mental health support meetings on Sundays at 9 PM and Tuesdays at noon.
How to Stay Connected
Send me an email at chris@ctdads.com telling me what phone number or Messenger account you want to be contacted on, then I’ll reach out and introduce myself.
Now that we’ve got each others’ numbers, you can text me anytime day or night (I shut off notifications as needed, but will respond) if you want to chat.
And I’ll reach out to you twice a month with a personal message. I will never add you to a group text without your permission.
The first text will let you know the next meeting’s date and the second will let you know which restaurant we’re going to and ask if you’re able to attend.
Why not just decide earlier and only send one text? Because checking in on each other is sort of the whole point.
Well why not just send an email? Because stay-at-home dads only use email for taxes and password resets.
And if we ever forget to text you, or texting isn’t your thing, check back here at www.ctdads.com where they’ll both be posted whenever the decisions are made.
